"...For the most part, the songs take a backseat to the groove, and all other instruments defer to the bassus maximus, which, in this case, is clearly what God intended. In fact, the title track features nothing but basses (Freekbass and Gordon), drums and vocals. Normally that might be a recipe for disaster, but I dare say you won't notice the absence of a 6-string or keys one bit..."

You heard it hear first! Cincinnati's own Freekbass will be opening for funk legend George Clinton 1/14/2009 at The Madison Theater in Covington, KY. Freekbass had a busy 2008 releasing 2 albums, "Grooveyard" a live album recorded on 4.18.08 at the 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati, OH and "Junkyard Waltz" a studio album, with guest appearances by Bootsy Collins, Mike Gordon, Mudbone, among others.

George Clinton released "George Clinton and His Gangtas of Love" in 2008 featuring Santana, Sly Stone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, El Debarge, The RZA, Kim Burrell, Dhani Harrison and members of the P Funk All Stars.
